Checking in

Check-in at the hotel begins at 4 PM, and guests must be 19 or older to check in. If you drive, the car is part of the process. Parking is complimentary and included in the room rate. Guests who park on site give the make, model and licence plate of the vehicle at check-in. Having those details ready saves a walk back to the car.

The hotel has 126 rooms and deluxe suites, and it is connected to Casino New Brunswick. Once the bags are in the room, the evening can begin without moving the car. Arriving before 4 PM? Call the hotel at 506-859-7770, extension 2, to ask about earlier arrangements.

    The first evening

By the time you check in, the table games at Casino New Brunswick have been running since 2 PM. Later, the poker room in the Lighthouse part of the casino opens at 6 PM, Thursday to Saturday. The High Limit Room opens at 6 PM every day. On Friday and Saturday, craps starts at 7 PM.

The gift shop stays open until 11 PM. For dinner, the Buffet runs Wednesday to Saturday, with its own menu for each day, and the casino can confirm its hours. Like the Hub City Pub, it sits on the casino floor, so everyone who enters must be 19 or older.

If you arrive on a Monday or Tuesday, there is no Buffet and the poker room is closed. Tables close at 2 AM from Sunday to Thursday and at 3 AM on Friday and Saturday.

    Around the room

The hotel has a pool and a gym, and Wi-Fi is free for guests. Up to two pets can stay in a room, cats and dogs, each up to 50 lb. A nightly fee applies, and the hotel can confirm the amount when you book. Pets are not allowed on the gaming floor, but service animals are.

Groups planning a meeting during the stay can book one of the meeting rooms. The Monte Carlo Room holds up to 100 guests, and the Nevada Room holds up to 40. Requests go by email to cnb.sales@greatcanadian.com.

    Checking out

Check-out is by 11 AM. The slots open again at 10 AM, so there is an hour between the floor reopening and check-out. At the same hour, the gift shop opens. Holiday hours should be checked on Casino New Brunswick's own site, greatcanadian.com.

To book another night, call the hotel at 1-877-859-7775 or 506-859-7770 and ask for extension 2, which handles hotel reservations. Without the extension, the same numbers reach the casino itself.
